Mayfair
Mayfair is basically a quarter in London. It’s
a highly fashionable district, and is often introduced as the most expensive
property on the British monopoly board, just like we have Kalverstraat in The
Netherlands. . . . . .
. . .
The district is named after the annual May
Fair, which used to take place on the site that is Shepherd Market today. It’s
in the West End of London towards the east edge of Hyde Park, in the City of
Westerminster, between Oxford Street, Regent Street, Piccadilly and Park Lane. Mayfair
is surrounded by parkland; both Hyde Park and Green Park run along it’s boundary.
The area is an upper shopping experience
combined with luxe hotels, residences and restaurants. The Rents in Mayfair are among the highest in
London and the world, Not only the Rents but also the Shops are on the
expensive side.
