Walkie Talkie Tower
The
walkie talkie tower, officially known as 20 Fenchurch Street is
a commercial skyscraper in the City of London financial district. The 34-storey,
62.000 m² building is 160 m tall, making it the sixth-tallest building in
the City of London.
The walkie talkie tower was
designed by architect Rafael Viñoly who
also designed Het Atlasgebouw at the university of Wageningen and the
international forum in Tokyo. The walkie talkie tower features a top-heavy form
which appears to burst upward and outward. A large viewing deck, bar and
restaurants are included on the top three floors. Making the building perfect
to look at the City of London without any obstruction.
Since July of
this year, the building is owned by Hong Kong food company Lee Kum Kee Groups
and serves as office space and the top 3 stories are open to visitors and
include café’s, bars and restaurants.
