St. Paul’s Cathedral
The st. paul’s cathedral is an
Anglican cathedral. It sits on the Ludgate Hill, this is the highest place in
the city of London. The cathedral was designed in the English baroque style by
Sir Christopfer Wren. This design was a part of the rebuilding progamme in the
City after the Great Fire of London.
St. Paul is one of the most recognizable
and famous sights of London. It was the tallest building of London from 1710 to
1967 with a hight of 365 feet/111 m. The length is 518 ft (158M)St. Paul is
also the second largest chruch buildig in the UK. Only the cathedral in
Liverpool is larger.
St. Paul is a significant
place in the national identity and it is the central subject of very much
promotional material, like images of the dome, Sir Winston Churchill and
Margaret Thatcher.
